The Causes of Lying in Children

1- Fear of punishment or trying to avoid getting into trouble or being blamed

4- Blurred boundaries between reality and imagination (fantasizing)

7- Forgetting details, especially common in young children (typically under 4 years old)

8- Avoiding abuse or mistreatment
